Ted Leo covered my favorite song, ever.

A lot’s been going on around here—and I’ve had no time to blog about it. I need to get caught up on everything!

Last weekend me and my friend Meg and her boyfriend Mike went to see Ted Leo. I think it was my 5th time seeing him.

Ted Leo

I took pictures with a film camera. Totally wasn’t sure if they’d come out. Most are blurry but a few were good.

See those people up in the balcony area? More about them later.

I love the way he moves his feet on stage. He tends to go on his tip toes a lot.

He did a nice mix of old and new songs. I’m a little tired right now and can’t bring myself to write out the set list. But Meg’s boyfriend grabbed the set list off the stage, which was cool.

We managed to snag stage spots off to one side, even though we got there late (after the opening band had started playing).

Ted usually does a cover as part of his encore. This time he came out solo and did a song by the Waterboys—my favorite song, ever, “Fisherman’s Blues.” I could not believe it.

I found footage of it on youtube, and you can see me in the video. I’m standing right in front of the two shiny metal bars. You can see me grab Meg’s arm when I realized what song it was (when he sings the first line) to tell her it was my favorite song, ever.

Whoever took video of the song, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Also, someone up in the balcony took pictures and posted them on Flickr. I stumbled onto them the other day.

Here’s one where you can see me and Meg.

Here’s Meg alone-literally, just Meg.

And here I am watching Ted.

One of my fave live experiences of the year, seeing him do the Waterboys. I even wrote him an email to thank him.
