People you can watch in anything.

Movies Add comments

Anything.

Here’s mine:

Nathan Fillion.

I don’t know what it is about him. He’s just got his own thing going on.

Also, The Rock.

Yes. I’m serious. I’ll watch him in anything.

I actually used to watch him when he was a pro wrestler (because my husband was into it for awhile—it’s like a soap opera for men, totally). But he was so funny—I still crack up just thinking about “the people’s elbow” and “the people’s eyebrow.”

But—come on.

Sigh.

Female-wise? Claire Danes.

Salma Hayek.

I know there’s more but that’s good for now. I don’t like a lot of well-known actors in movies. It distracts me too much from the story. I keep thinking about how it’s Julia Roberts on the screen or whatever. But that doesn’t bother me with these people because I just love to see them on the screen.

The people’s elbow is still a phrase I use on a semi-regular basis. I heart the Rock. Truly.

My other guy is Vin Diesel. Why???? I really don’t know, but I can always enjoy a movie he’s in, no matter how sucky.

Girl-wise, I’d have to think about it.

I love Love LOVE Nathan Fillion and I’m so glad that Castle has not been a disappointment. Also love the Rock. I think he is brilliant and funny and, well, duh! Hot.

Last week I would have said that my “watch in anything guy” was John Cusack, but I watched Grace is Gone over the weekend. Ugh.

  3. Susan M Says:

I could probably also add Keanu Reeves, Steve Buscemi and Christopher Walken to my list.

Nathan Fillion….Mmmmmmmmmmm. He’s so yummy. Definitely one of mine.

  5. bythelbs Says:

I’m not super familiar with Mr. Fillion, but I don’t think I’d mind getting to know him a little better. Castle is on ABC and my satellite company is in a contract dispute with our ABC affiliate—no Castle for me! Or Lost! Or Scrubs! I’ve always enjoyed the Rock.

Claire Danes is a good choice, too. I’m totally with you on Keanu Reeves and Christopher Walken, who are each awesome in their own special ways. Say what you will about Keanu’s acting, but man. I’d have to think about the rest of my list.

bythelbs! NO abc? WTW? You could watch online. Totally worth it. And then get Waitress. And Firefly and Serenity. And then join me in begging the powers that be to FINALLY release Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place on DVD. Oh, and watch Dr. Horrible obsessively.

These easy steps and you too could be a Fillion freak like me…

  7. Janelle Says:

    I’m a Judi Dench fan.

  8. Amber M Says:

For me, James McAvoy. yes, Mr. Tumnus… when Lucy asks him to shake hands and he says “why?” I could just eat him up.

And no, this is not a joke.
    :)
See Becoming Jane if you don’t believe me.

  9. Susan M Says:

I looked up James McAvoy and don’t recognize him. Haven’t seen Becoming Jane. Was that the movie about Jane Austen?

  10. Susan M Says:

I thought of someone else—Matthew McFadyen, who played Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. He was also on a British tv show called MI-5, which looks like 24 ripped off quite a bit.

    This guy.

  11. Mother of the Wild Boys Says:

I know I’m alone in this, but I’ve loved Nicolas Cage in everything I’ve seen him in. I just love him….I know, it’s weird.

Also James Earl Jones and Sean Connery.

And girls? Claire Danes for sure, and Kate Winslet.

Oh, and I agree with you on the Rock…he’s a keeper.

  12. shazbraz Says:

MotWB…that is not weird at all…I love Nicolas Cage. Love him, love him, love him and will watch him in anything. Hubby referenced Raising Arizona earlier today…

  13. TJ Anderson Says:

i’m a big fan of Firefly and of course the Serenity movie … and Nathan is always gracious at the GeekCons .. plus…PLUS … he is known to wear kilts… and he TRIED to get Joss Wedon to let nathans character wear it for the show … so he’s an all around stud ‘sfar as i’m concerned..

i like actors who can ACT .. that is play then just themselves … so i’d go with Brad Pitt… leonardo dicaprio (c’mon.. seriously.. did you SEE blood diamond? or the Aviator?? ) also tom Hanks has proven himself..

girls… hmm again going with the girls who can ACT .. gotta go with Galadriel herself .. (who happened to also have been in the Aviator as Eva Gabor .. AND was the “Russian” in the latest Indy Jones movie) Cate Blanchett… and i got a lil soft spot for the girl from Firefly & Serenity (and now Terminator) Summer Glau.. mainly cuz i have seen her NOT acting.. and she’s totally different then those esoterically viscious, yet innocent characters..

my LEAST FAVORITE… Shia Labouf… (or as we like to call him … “just-shy-of-buff” ) he is.. the epitome of nepotism in the film industry.

not that he hasnt’ been in good movies… but those good movies would/could have been GREAT if they had put a real actor in em…

LEAST favorite female… Julia Roberts… no idea why she keeps getting work.

sorry Susan.. didn’t mean to out blog your blog :P

  15. madhousewife Says:

I love Nathan Fillion. And the Rock! The Rock is awesome!

I think I’ve commented before on my historical Claire Danes crush. My current girl crush is Kristen Bell. I only watched season 2 of Heroes because Kristen Bell was in it.

  16. Suz Broughton Says:

Yes, Matthew McFadyen. Him in MI-5? MEOW. Also in P&P. I take him over Colin Firth. Never heard of this Nathan person, but you’ve peaked my interest…

  17. Mother of the Wild Boys Says:

I totally agree with TJ on the Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio choices. Oh, and Mad is spot on with her Kristen Bell crush (she’s not alone on that!), she’s the only reason I watched season 2 of Heroes as well. :)

  18. jjohnsen Says:

George Clooney and Kate Winslet, I’ll watch both of them in anything, and I think I have.

  19. robyn Says:

    Nathan Fillion. humanahumana!

I have followed his career forever. He’s great.

The Rock is just so like-able.

Clare Danes is one of my favorites. My So Called Life was the best ever and all of those actors involved are my favorites in pretty much anything.

I also think Patrick Dempsey is superb. But I don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy. Weird for me not to I guess.

    Oh and Harry Connick Jr.

I really like Cameron Diaz for some strange reason.

  20. shazbraz Says:

Yes, Like-able. How could you not like him? He’s so pleasant; looking and personality.

Oh, and I would have to add Ryan Reynolds to my list.

  21. Susan M Says:

Glad I’m not alone in my Rock love.
