Anyone manage to dodge it so far?
My youngest, Elijah, has been really sick for a few days now. My oldest, Nathaniel, is starting to come down with it.
I feel bad that my first reaction to them both has been, “You’d better not give it to me!”
But the flu is dangerous when you’re diabetic.
I’ve been washing my hands constantly.
Is it me, or does the flu seem way more harsh now than it used to? Is it the flu vaccines that are causing nastier viruses, or what?
At least no one’s thrown up yet. This one just seems to involve a bad fever and a horrible headache. Elijah’s been complaining about light making it worse, too.

Oh, yuck! I’m sorry. We’ve so far escaped any real illness this year, but since all 5 of us either attend or work at a public school, we have been in hand-washing, vitamin c and zinc-taking overdrive this year.

My son got some kind of flu head/chest cold thing last week (I blame preschool and stupid parents), and he gave it to my husband. He then gave it to me. Now my daughter has it. And it’s not some quick thing, either –it’s a flat-on-your-back-for-three-days-with-a-two-week-lingering-cough thing.
I’m just glad I’m into the coughing stage. Finally. I hate being sick. And I swear –my kids never (NEVER!) got this sick when we lived in northern CA. Stupid UT weather. Blah.
P.S. I hope you don’t get it!!

Sorry your boys are sick! I’m with bythlbs, I have strong feelings about the flu vaccine. I hope you can stay healthy!
Luckily we have avoided any major sicknesses this winter. I hope it continues that way.

My mom has been sick for a week, I am 2 days behind. As soon as you think you are getting better, it kicks you down again. Never been this sick in my life. Lost 8 pounds in 4 days. Very contagious. Can’t wait to feel normal again. Not vomitting, high fever, sweats, cold can’t move bad headache. So bad!!! Stay healthy!!!

Sounds like what we had! But it hit our kids harder than it hit us.
