Dillon asked me the other day what my most-viewed pics on my Flickr account were. I’ve never really paid attention to my stats on there. I think the results are kind of funny.
#1 : Christmas on the Pier - Viewed 1,691 times
I’ve posted this on the blog before. It’s an old one. Still one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken.
#2: Permanent Wave: During - Viewed 1,170 times
This is Daniel when he got a perm a couple years back. He was growing his hair long, because I like it long. But it was always getting in his way. So he thought if he got it permed it might stay out of his face more. It wasn’t his first perm. He got one in high school, too. I’ll never forget the first time I saw him in high school with a perm. It was so completely out of the realm of anything you’d ever expect Daniel to do.
Related photos which are also ranked very high on my stats:
#3: Basic Skate Party/Contest - Viewed 1,000 times
I actually have other pictures I like better from this contest, but for some reason this one gets a lot of views. I prefer this one and this one, myself.
Funny story about that last one, the guy with the braids? I had those pictures on my cubicle at my last job, and went on vacation for a week. The woman who filled in for me while I was gone, a temp worker, is good friends with that guy. She was tripping out that I had pictures of her friend on my cubicle.
If you have a Flickr account, you can bookmark other people’s photos that you like. And you can see who has bookmarked yours. If I rank my pictures by those that have been favorited the most, there’s slightly different results.
#1: Christmas on the Pier - Favorited by 38 people
But:
#2: Seal Beach TTV - Favorited by 16 people
This is a through-the-viewfinder shot of the Seal Beach pier. I did some colorizing effects in photoshop to make it all green.
#3: Surf Sunset - Favorited by 11 people
I took this one the same night as the Christmas pier shot. It was a fantastic sunset at the HB pier.
#4 is kind of funny, so I’ll include it:
This is an artist named Ariel Pink. He’s known for making weird 70’s sounding pop. He likes to play live with people who’ve never played before. He actually went on tour once and asked online for people to show up at the venue and be in his band. I love that he’s willing to take risks like that. I’ve seen him live twice. The first was at the show above, and I loved it. The second time, the never-played-before thing didn’t quite work out. It was rather a mess.
I think he’s got a very small but die hard fan base, and that’s why this photo has been favorited so many times.

It’s funny to me that you husband grew his hair out because you like it long. Sean loves his hair long. I’m not really a fan. It’s long anyway. Le sigh.
You take amazing pictures.

You are so talented. I love the variety.

Alison: His hair isn’t long now. He says he’ll grow it back out if I let him have a mullet again, but that’s not really what’s stopping him.
And thanks Suz.

Those are all impressive pics–totally view/favorite worthy.
The perm pics are especially awesome.
